TIME MACHINE ALSO KNOWN AS
ROM (Range Of Motion)

The unique design if this exercise machine is the creation of John Pitre, an artist, inventor, thinker, philosopher, pilot and a superb surfer residing currently in Hawaii  www.johnpitre.com.

I have been planning to write about John Pitre, whom I had a pleasure to meet personally in Hawaii, for some time now, and specifically about his greatest invention: THE ROM machine, when an article appeared in today's Bergen Record on this very same subject.  Well respected gyms throughout the world and the United States feature this machine in their array of exercising equipment.

I must tell you:  try it and see for yourself how effective it is.  When you read advertising slogans claiming 4 minute work out  for the upper body and 4 minutes for the lower body will be sufficient to give you the equivalent of one hour cross training, THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!  I have done it myself and believe me, being very strong and being in a very good shape, I thought my lungs were about to burst.  That's how intensive the work out was.

We all have seen gimmicks and scams: "6-pack abs in 30 days", "lose 30 lbs in 2 weeks", etc, etc.  They are just gimmicks.  This machine is incredible and as a devout physical training buff, I applaud every fitness center that invested money in this equipment.

Those of you who plan to join local gyms, make sure you select the one that offers the ROM.  I assure you, you will not regret it.  Check out Bergen Record, 8/15/2006 Health section.

If you want to learn more about John Pitre, go to his web site www.johnpitre.com.  You will find his gallery there.  The paintings are just AMAZING!.  They are well worth viewing.

ENJOY!!!!!!

TIPS TO KEEP YOUR EYES HEALTHY:
  • Protect your eyes from UV rays. Ultraviolet rays damage your cornea and possibly your lens and retina , as well. The best prevention are UV-protective sunglasses. Brands like Maui Jim have polarized lenses, which improve sharpness and eliminate glare.
  • If you have allergies, over-the-counter anti-histamine eye drops are necessary. Ask your pharmacist for the best brand.
  • Replace your eye make up on a regular basis. Keep products fresh to prevent growth of bacteria. Never borrow someone else's eye make up. If you try make up in the store, always use new applicators.

FACTS ABOUT OILS

  • MACADAMIA NUT OIL:
This not well known oil has the greatest concentration of monounsaturated fats of just any oils on the market. If you have high cholesterol count, this oil should be essential in your diet regimen. produced primarily in Hawaii, it makes exotic dishes taste fabulous. Spray it over a crabmeat salad, avocado or fresh popcorn and you will experience a new level of culinary satisfaction.
  • WALNUT OIL:
Walnut oil is a top source of omega-3 fat alpha-linoleic acid. This acid is extremely beneficial in maintaining your heart and cardiovascular system healthy. It reduces cholesterol and triglycerides, and also makes the blood less "sticky", so it less likely to clot. Since walnut oil is highly concentrated a good idea is to dilute it slightly by mixing it with neutral oil like canola.
  • HAZELNUT OIL:
Hazelnut oil is a powerhouse loaded with antioxidants and flavonoids that protect your body against viruses, inflammations and allergies. In your culinary creations, mix it with lighter oil to mellow its flavor. It works on salads as well as on main dishes and baked goods.

Caution:
Always store these oils in cans, to avoid light exposure and the resulting rancidity. Always keep them in a refrigerator, allow about 10 minutes for them to liquefy in the room temperature.
